Cadillac will fight back into the crossover competition by developing its 2016 Cadillac SRX. This three-row crossover will be launched in 2016 along with the new Escalade and LTX. Offering a lot of improvement, this car is expected to help Cadillac to take its place against the other rivals.

Since this car is being prepared for doing a wild aggression toward its rivals, the body is sculptured into a more aggressive look. Similar to the other 2016 Cadillac, the sharp-edged bodywork will be sharpened over to show the very identity of Cadillac.
Cadillac’s ambitious aggression against its other rivals is also clearly reflected in its new headlights and grille. The LED headlights is designed to be tighter than the current version, which allows a space for a bigger chromium grille. The combination between the LED headlights and the big grille do not only give an impression of aggressiveness, but also luxury.

Winning a competition against its gigantic rivals, an aggressive luxurious look are not enough. Cadillac will surely need to offer a competitive performance in its incoming crossover.
Unfortunately, it is still unclear which engine will be planted under the hood. If it still uses the V6 engine which is used in the current SRX, that would be good enough. This engine can produce 308 HP, which enables the car to reach 6 mph in just 7.1 seconds.
This engine is also claimed by Cadillac as a fuel-efficient engine for estimated mpg 17 city/24 highway for FWD, and 16 city/23 highway for AWD. Moreover, it will be more efficient and even faster since the 2016 Cadillac SRX will be lighter than the current version. However, it seems like Cadillac has to do some work on the engine, since Car and Driver criticized it for its disturbing noise.
Another prediction about the engine is that, Car Points predicts that this new crossover will use a more powerful engine. As this is a futuristic car, they said that the 2016 Cadillac SRX will use the V8 4.5 liter engine which is used in the Cadillac Elmiraj concept. Using that engine, we can expect a bigger horsepower; 500 HP.
However, that is just a prediction, or maybe a dream. We can just wait for the official specification from GM, so we can see whether the2016 Cadillac SRX can win the competition or not.
