The statement of saying Elmiraj will be the 2016 Cadillac Eldorado is not an instant guess. It begins with the unveiling of Cadillac Ciel concept in 2011. The design of the convertible Ciel looks so classic and luxurious as well. However, GM announced that the Ciel is not for mass production, it is just a concept car.
Two years later, in 2013, GM unveiled another concept car; Cadillac Elmiraj. The design is really alike with Ciel, but with a more modern touch without losing its sense of classic. It shows that Ciel was not just a flight of fancy, there must be reasons for GM to develop it into Cadillac Elmiraj.
The classic and overwhelmingly luxurious look on Elmiraj reminds everyone of the legendary Cadillac Eldorado. The vast length, the sculpture, the luxurious look, and tons of classy features which other cars do not have, is why it is very similar to the legendary Eldorado. If it is true that Cadillac Elmiraj is the 2016 Cadillac Eldorado, then this car is blessed. Cadillac Elmiraj concept car uses 4.8 liter V-8 engine with twin turbochargers, which can produce about 500 Horsepower.
Furthermore, this car is built on Omega platform which is used only for a highly luxurious coupe by GM. Applying this platform, it means that Cadillac Eldorado 2016 will be towed by rear wheel-drive. At this point, we can see how GM treat this car different from its other cars.
