In a city renowned for its vibrant energy and showbiz flair, Mexican racing sensation Sergio “Checo” Pérez, alongside Team Principal and CEO Christian Horner, took the championship-winning RB7 F1 car for a spin, demonstrating that the spirit of Las Vegas and Formula 1 are a match made in heaven. Here is all you need to know:
Mexican Sergio “Checo” Pérez, Team Principal and CEO Christian Horner, plus the championship-winning RB7 F1 car, prove that Las Vegas is always a good idea as they prime fans for the upcoming showbiz race.
Pérez whimsically regales Horner with the details of his last 24 hours in the city that never sleeps as, from driving down the bustling Las Vegas Strip to racing on the scorched Nevada desert to the roof of a casino, no stone is left unturned in the revealing of his epic adventure.
Pérez and Horner are joined by a cast of iconic Vegas characters, including Elvis impersonators, showgirls, magician Mat Franco, the iconic Blue Man Group and Mr Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton.
Six-time off-road champion and Las Vegas native Bryce Menzies also gets in on the action for some head-to-head off-road racing against 33-year-old six-time Grand Prix winner Pérez.
Horner, 49, revealed: “There is a lot of anticipation around the Las Vegas Grand Prix. It is one we are all very excited about. A Saturday night race down the strip is going to be an amazing spectacle, and it speaks to the fun vibe this new race will bring. Filming the light-hearted ¡Vamos, Vegas! with Checo was the perfect way for us to prepare for what’s to come in November.”
¡Vamos, Vegas! is the latest Oracle Red Bull Racing Road Trip across the globe from multiple locations in the USA (San Francisco, Miami, New York) to Australia, Netherlands, Slovakia and more.
Red Bull is a partner to the Las Vegas Grand Prix and brings a new layer of trackside activations, custom hospitality options and multiple consumer experiences. Options include access to the Red Bull Energy Station, a 20,000-square-foot trackside hospitality centre offering three-day admission to premium viewing, exclusive driver appearances, live musical entertainment and gourmet cuisine.
